As we look ahead to our annual shareholder meeting, we would like to take this opportunity to remind you to cast your vote and make your voice heard.
Transparency and regular communication are two key tenets of our approach for engaging with shareholders. We are mindful of where our shareholders consume information; for the vast majority, it’s online. Accordingly, one of our primary goals is finding and enhancing online channels for communication with all shareholders – from investors holding a few shares to the largest index funds.
That is why I’m excited to share a new visual format for presenting our annual proxy statement. We partnered with iiWisdom, a start-up aimed at providing a platform for hosting proxy statements, to deliver an interactive version of our 2015 proxy statement that is now available on our Investor Relations website.
Our primary objective for providing an interactive proxy statement is to make it easy for our shareholders to efficiently access and consume the proxy statement content using an intuitive and easily navigable framework. This is an important step because it puts our proxy directly in the hands of our shareholders so they can immediately access the specific information they want, when and where they want it.
We again are offering a virtual shareholder meeting through which you can view the meeting, submit questions and vote online. We will also provide a live webcast of the annual shareholders meeting from the Microsoft Investor Relations website. A transcript with video and audio of the entire annual shareholders meeting will be available on the Investor Relations website after the meeting. We hope this approach will allow those who cannot attend the meeting in person to hear Microsoft executives discuss the year’s results and our plans for the future. In addition, we make available at our Investor Relations website a variety of information for investors. Our goal is to maintain the Investor Relations website as a portal through which investors can easily find or navigate to pertinent information about us.
