Microsoft welcomes mamás to Manhattan for Abuela-Approved AI x Copilot Experience

On April 8, Microsoft took to the heart of Manhattan to launch Abuela-Approved AI, which explores the intersection of AI technology and Latina motherhood. It was a day filled with connection, culture, and cutting-edge AI technology, where moms, abuelas, media and content creators got an exclusive, hands-on look at how Microsoft Copilot can empower parents in ways that feel both modern and deeply rooted in tradition. 1. Meet Abuela-Approved AI

Microsoft set out to show Latina moms how AI technology, like Copilot, can be a powerful and valuable addition to their parenting village. Imagine blending the best of tech-forward parenting tools with the timeless wisdom of abuelas, and that’s Abuela-Approved AI.

2. Preview of Copilot Native Spanish Voices

Yusuf Mehdi, Executive Vice President and Consumer Chief Marketing Officer at Microsoft, teased the launch of two native Spanish voices for Copilot Voice, Alder and Elm. These voices, which are now widely available, offer a more personalized and culturally authentic experience for users.

A heartfelt fireside chat titled “Copilot as your Comadre” featured moms, abuelas, content creators, and Microsoft leaders discussing how AI can bridge generations, honor cultural values, and become a trusted companion in everyday life.
