Still running SQL Server 2005? It’s time to upgrade

It’s been a good run, but the decade-old SQL Server 2005 is about to ride off into the sunset. Before support ends on April 12, 2016, you’ll need a plan to migrate any remaining instances of SQL Server 2005.

But why wait to migrate “when you have an opportunity to provide new value to your business now with a modern data platform?” asks the SQL Server team. Many customers are already experiencing the benefits of SQL Server 2014, including GE Healthcare, which uses SQL Server 2014 and Microsoft Azure to accelerate time-to-market, cuts costs and enable compliance for more customers.
