Sharing Stories: Microsoft Customers on Cloud Security

Last May I traveled to Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong to meet with customers and reporters. I was interested to hear their perspectives regarding cloud services while sharing a recently completed a study on small to midsize businesses’ (SMBs) experiences with security in the cloud.

This data indicated SMBs in Asia view cloud security positively. For example, 54 percent of respondents said their business was more secure as a result of moving to the cloud. (See infographic) While this data is promising, there’s never a substitute for real stories from real people. Instead of rehashing the customer stories myself, I’d rather you hear directly from a few of the customers I talked to on my trip.

To that end, we’ll feature guest posts from Bobby Jimenez, chief technology officer, Sindicatum Sustainable Resources (Singapore) and Arunachalam Sam, group IT/IS manager, Mulitex (Hong Kong). Bobby and Sam come from two very different businesses, but have a lot in common in terms of how they trust the cloud to help generate innovative solutions to meet business objectives.

Check back tomorrow for Bobby’s cloud security story.
