I’m down in San Francisco today at UCSF attending FarSight 2011: Beyond the Search Box. The event is organized by Big Think with support from our Bing team – but this is no Bing “show and tell” – it’s gathering of “big heads” for presentations, panels and discussions on what the future of search may be.
People are starting to arrive – Esther Dyson is sat chatting with Blaise Augera y Arcas, Kevin Kelly is stalking the room and team Blekko have taken up a flank position alongside me and a crowd has formed around Danny Sullivan – no doubt discussing his post this morning.
I decided to forgo the comfortable seats (and the power outlets) to bring you a roving report of sorts. I’m not going to live blog the event – I think that makes it impossible to actually listen and learn – so check back here later this morning for an update on what I learnt.
Right now, Vivek Wadwha is up on stage – he’s our emcee for the day and is talking about how we wants search that helps him find he perfect Indian restaurant.
