On Friday, Microsoft announced the completion of the Nokia Devices and Services business acquisition, enabling Microsoft to accelerate its share of smartphones and feature phones in developed and emerging markets, and increase our role as a devices and services company. Specifically Microsoft acquires Nokia’s smartphone and mobile phone businesses, its design team, most of its manufacturing and assembly facilities and operations, and sales and marketing support.
Here in Massachusetts, we’re pleased to welcome about 160 Nokia employees who now join our Microsoft New England family.
We look forward to building on our existing partnership and our deep industry experience to help accelerate our ability to deliver world-class mobile solutions to customers here in New England and around the globe.
