My name is Stacey Rainey and I have worked at Microsoft for the past 5 years on the US Partners in Learning (PIL) team. During this time I have been based in Boston and worked out of the Waltham and Cambridge offices. PiL, as we affectionately call ourselves, is focused on creating tools and resources to ease the integration of technology in the classroom. We believe technology can serve as an accelerator of learning and is a critical component in preparing 21st Century learners.
One of my favorite initiatives at Microsoft is our annual Innovative Education Forum. This event is a wonderful celebration of educators who are using technology in the classroom to improve teaching and learning. In 2010, a team from Lexington, MA was selected to attend based on the strength of their application. Hear them describe the project utilizing Worldwide Telescope in a 6th grade classroom in this short video.

The Innovative Education Forum (IEF) is part of a worldwide program from Microsoft Partners in Learning. The IEF seeks to showcase creative and inspiring examples of how educators and schools are using technology to improve teaching and learning.
The application window just opened for the 2011 IEF. It will be hosted on the Microsoft campus in Redmond, WA July 28-29. The theme this year is Engaging students. Inspiring creativity. Preparing for the future. It focuses on how educators and schools engage students to solve difficult problems while inspiring creativity and, ultimately, preparing students for the future.
