Microsoft Convergence, happening right now in Atlanta, is always a great showcase for our partners and customers who are transforming their businesses with cutting-edge Microsoft tools and services. This year, we’re pleased to share details of two programs designed to help business dramatically shorten the time needed to realize value from the Internet of Things (IoT): Quick Start and the IoT Leadership Program.
As Microsoft CVP of Cloud and Enterprise Marketing, Takeshi Numoto wrote separately in his blog announcing Microsoft Azure IoT Suite, Microsoft’s vision continues to focus on helping our customers transform their business with IoT — “delivering open, scalable platforms and services that any company, whether startup or the most established global enterprises, can use to create new value, right now.” Today’s Azure IoT Suite announcement reflects that commitment, and we’re equally continuing to invest in programs and resources that help enterprises implement solutions that harness these and other technology innovations from Microsoft.
I first discussed the Quick Start consultations in December — free half-day sessions led by our trusted partners and Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) designed to offer businesses a personalized, accelerated introduction to IoT. Participants in the consultations will spend time diving into their business needs and goals, exploring the tools and resources available to them, and learning about what their industry peers are doing to implement IoT in their businesses. The final take-away: A customized proof of concept unique to their business that can quickly grow into a solution ready for deployment.
Quick Start originally launched with five partners piloted in two markets. Today, we’re expanding the program to more than 25 partners in six markets. If you’d like more information on the Quick Start or to apply for a consultation, get in touch today.
In addition, we’re implementing an IoT Leadership Program, bringing together select customers to share insights, participate in Microsoft-led technical workshops, preview Microsoft technologies, and learn best practices from one another. The program will provide us with an opportunity to help drive innovative IoT solutions with our customers, while accelerating their time-to-value by supporting them as they work to achieve specific business objectives. Likewise, we will harness learnings from the program to inform our business strategy by ensuring we continue meeting the needs and challenges of our customers. Stay tuned for updates.
Quick Start and the IoT Leadership Program are fine-tuned to different needs that businesses face as they pursue their journey to IoT. But what they both share is a recognition that to drive real transformation as a digital business, there is no one-size-fits-all solution; each business must implement IoT in the way that meets its specific needs and goals. This process does not have to be complicated or held until some future date — Microsoft is making the future real, right now, for businesses of all sizes across all industries. Our customers’ successes showcase the many possible pathways there are to IoT. Let us help you find the right one for your business.
