Microsoft Partners with UTSA for Next-Gen Energy Storage

Last week, Microsoft joined NRG Energy at The University of Texas at San Antonio’s (UTSA) Texas Sustainable Energy Research Institute (TSERI) to announce new research showing that batteries can help ease the transition to a grid increasingly powered by renewables.

Learn more about the announcement and the three-year agreement between UTSA and Microsoft to research and develop sustainable technologies to make datacenters more energy efficient and economically viable, first announced in April 2014. It’s all part of Microsoft’s ongoing commitment towards greening our datacenters by purchasing more renewable energy and investing in new energy technologies to drive an efficient and carbon-neutral cloud.
