| Josh Henretig

Each quarter, Microsoft gives out an Environmental Sustainability Action Award, along with a donation to an environmental charity of the winner’s choice, in recognition of an employee or team who has shown leadership, exemplifying how Microsoft and its employees can have a positive impact.

Their work enabled an estimated savings of over 52,000 discs and 104,000 printed pages by not shipping physical kits, and has shown a 99% savings in volume for physical media shipped. The team behind this amazing work includes: Grace Madigan, Pene Seloti, Dawn Balfe, Paddy Barr, Suzanne O’Toole, Eva Henihan, Jonathan McGloin, Tara Fernandes, Michael Carey, Dawn Balfe, Steven Crowley, Ronan Cooney, Jose Negron Cortes, Bob Goddard, Gloria Lamb

Visualizing Microsoft’s supply chain through the lens of environmental sustainability, these teams were not only able to find ways to reduce the company’s impact on the environment, but also to save both Microsoft and its customer’s money. In addition, by involving customers in the process of creating solutions, the team was able to showcase the increasing customer interest in partnering directly with Microsoft to further its sustainability initiatives and opportunities. The OEM Supply Chain Team’s work embodies the idea that some of our best solutions come from feedback our customers and suppliers provide.

This project is a great example of Microsoft’s worldwide teams coming together to drive change around the environmental sustainability of our supply chain. We applaud the Worldwide OEM Supply Chain team for working so diligently to bring this project to life and helping Microsoft green its supply chain.

Environmental Sustainability Action Award winners show leadership and provide inspiring examples of how Microsoft and its employees can have a positive impact and change not only the way we run our business, but also the way our products and services can make a difference for our customers, our partners, and for society.
