Microsoft is unveiling an exciting new contest today to make a positive impact by developing socially-minded applications for the new Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 platforms.
The contest rules are simple – create an app on the Windows 8 platform that makes the world a better place, publish the app on the Windows Store, then register your project on the contest website. And the best part for developers – in addition to helping Windows customer better track energy usage or make greener choices at the cash register, applicants can also win up to $15,000 with the Windows 8 Apps for Social Good Contest.
The contest begins today, November 5th , and the public will get a chance to vote starting in March 2013. We can’t wait to see what sort of innovative ideas come from this contest, and look forward to sharing them with you this spring.
