A new preview release of ChakraCore, based on Node.js 8, is now available on Windows, macOS and Linux.
It’s part of the team’s goal to make ChakraCore cross-platform, after the JavaScript engine got its start on Windows. Over the past year, the group has brought support for full just-in-time (JIT) compilation and concurrent and partial Garbage Collection (GC) on x64 to both macOS and Ubuntu Linux 14.04 and higher, and it’s now working on cross-platform internationalization to complete the effort.
Get more details at Windows Blogs about the preview release and how to participate in the community efforts to build and extend Node-ChakraCore.
