At GeekWire summit, Scott Guthrie talks about competition and standing out in the cloud

In the highly competitive environment for the cloud, thinking too much about the competition rather than the customer can be a huge mistake, Scott Guthrie said Wednesday at the GeekWire Cloud Tech Summit in Seattle, Washington.

“The best way to be successful, he said, is to focus — maybe even obsess — on making customers happy,” GeekWire reporter Nat Levy writes.

Guthrie, Microsoft Cloud and Enterprise Group executive vice president, also said that Microsoft has learned from Amazon’s data- and customer-driven approach to retail, and that Microsoft has taught Amazon a thing or two about working with enterprises and partners, Levy writes.
