Developers: How to give your UWP app a voice using Microsoft Cognitive Services

In a post on the Building Apps for Windows blog, learn about Microsoft Cognitive Services, which provides additional speech functionality for your Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps.

Microsoft Cognitive Services offers four main areas of functionality in preview: Speech Recognition, Text to Speech, Custom Recognition Intelligent Service (CRIS); and Speaker Recognition.

“One of the advantages of these cloud-based APIs is that they can be used regardless of the client platform and so can be applicable both to you, as a UWP app developer, but also to a website developer and to a developer who’s wanting to build cross-platform native apps using technologies, such as Xamarin,” writes the Windows App Team.
