This year, Microsoft Philanthropies sponsored the annual We Day, supporting events in Seattle on April 20, and in Los Angeles on April 7. Approximately 29,000 youth attended the shows, which celebrate young people making a difference in their local and global communities.
In supporting We Day, Microsoft helps young people drive the change they would like to see in their neighborhoods, schools and communities. Microsoft is inspired by young people and encourages them to use technology as a powerful tool to help create positive social change.
The slideshow here includes event highlights featuring YouthSpark reporters, student ambassador for Girls Who Code Aishwarya Manoharan, and 11-year-old entrepreneur Mikaila Ulmer of Me & the Bees Lemonade. Mikaila was joined on stage by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella at the KeyArena in Seattle.
