The “Minecraft” Overworld update, the year’s first major update to “Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta” and “Minecraft: Pocket Edition,” starts its rollout Thursday, with new redstone components, redstone specialist skins, spooky witches, slime blocks, wearable pumpkins and more. You can now make more advanced mechanical contraptions with new comparators, repeaters, dispensers, droppers and other components. And with “Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta,” you can import and export maps and grab 170 new Gamerscore across eight new achievements.

To celebrate the update, Minecraft developers will livestream their race to complete a new tricky redstone puzzle map made with new Overworld update components. The livestream, which starts at 10 a.m. PT on Feb. 18, can be seen on the TeamMojang YouTube channel and the official Minecraft twitch channel. You can also test your redstone knowledge and try out the puzzle map for free.

Download “Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta” ($9.99) and “Minecraft: Pocket Edition ($6.99) from the Windows Store, and find out more on the Windows Experience Blog and Xbox Wire. Also, keep up with what’s hot, new and trending in the Windows Store on Twitter and Facebook.
