Catch ‘Born to Explore’ Sunday on ABC to see how Skype in the Classroom brings fossils to life for students

This Sunday on “Born to Explore” on ABC TV, join 5th graders from Mosaic Preparatory Academy in Harlem, N.Y., as they use Skype to go on a virtual field trip to a dinosaur fossil site that dates back 65 million years. (Check your local listings for time.)

Microsoft and the team at “Born to Explore” collaborated to showcase how technology can help bring adventures into the classroom, and inspire students to discover their own interest in exploration.

Using Skype in the Classroom, Surface devices and Bing, the students were able to interact live with renowned paleontologist Dr. Ken Lacovara in the midst of a real dig at the Mantua Fossil Heritage Site in New Jersey.
