Comic Book Fans collection of games and apps includes ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and Madefire reader

The Comic Book Fans collections in the Windows and Windows Phone Stores celebrate this week’s Comic-Con in San Diego – the premier event for superhero devotees.

Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy: The Universal Weapon” (in the Windows Phone Store and Windows Store) builds on the movie (hitting theaters Aug. 1) and gives you a chance to play with the rag-tag team assembled to recover the five pieces of The Universal Weapon. Madefire is a free comic book reader for Windows PCs and tablets that takes digital comics into a new format called Motion Books, which immerses readers in the action with sound, motion and depth.

You’ll find seven other choices in the Windows Phone Store’s comics collection, including other film-inspired games such as “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “The Dark Knight Rises.”

The Windows Store’s comics collection has 14 apps and games, including the two we’ve already mentioned, and “Pinball FX 2,” with a game room full of pinball tables to play, each with a different look and theme. With the latest update, you’ll play with more new tables and a host of new features – including a state-of-the-art physics model.
