Return on investment isn’t solely about the money, healthcare leaders discover

Feb 25, 2014

Leaders from Advocate Health Care, the largest integrated healthcare system in Illinois, challenged their peers to discover their hidden return on investment this week during the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society’s (HIMSS) 2014 conference.

Fresh off success in achieving dramatic business and clinical results from a unified communication initiative, the folks from Advocate had this message: it wasn’t just what they did, it was how they did it.

Notable is that their definition of ROI wasn’t exclusively financial. It included a winning combination of people, process and technology efforts that made the difference in this four-year initiative.
