WeatherBug update turns your Windows Phone device into a personal lightning detector

Feb 11, 2014

The WeatherBug app, which already gives you access to the world’s largest network of weather sensors for super-accurate forecasts, now gives you Spark Alerts that turn your Windows Phone device into a personal lightning detector.

You’ll know when danger is approaching with a map that shows nearby strikes and Dangerous Thunderstorm Alerts – this gives you precious time that could save your life. (You can also check for others, too, with this map that shows strikes in other locations around the world.) With real-time data, you can see other weather threats first – and those will trigger faster alerts to severe weather, such as National Weather Service warnings.

Sharing photos of your favorite weather moments is easier, too, allowing millions of WeatherBug users to see the world the way you do.

With WeatherBug, you also get extended 10-day forecasts, multi-layered interactive maps and live weather cameras.

Install WeatherBug from the Windows Phone Store.
