TWC TV comes to Xbox

The TWC TV app launched on Xbox 360 on Tuesday, delivering up to 300 of the most popular TV channels to Xbox Live Gold members in the U.S. who are also TWC subscribers.

“For Xbox and our customers with Time Warner Cable, this is a landmark partnership and one that’s been a longtime in the making,” said Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of marketing, strategy and business, Xbox. “We couldn’t be more excited to see this relationship come to fruition today, especially with the fall TV and sports seasons right around the corner. The new TWC TV experience on Xbox is very compelling because it will bring more live TV channels to Xbox 360 than any other experience available on Xbox today.”

With Xbox 360 being the best-selling gaming console in the U.S. for 31 consecutive months, and millions of Xbox consoles in TWC territories, it’s easy to see why TWC TV on Xbox 360 was one of the most requested experiences by TWC customers. With the new app, your Xbox 360 becomes a voice-enabled entertainment console, instantly extending your TWC subscription to other TVs and rooms in your house.

For instance, gamers can now take a Halo break to watch their favorite shows on HBO, MTV, Comedy Central, FX and tons more without picking up the TV remote. And your kids can watch Nickelodeon in the den through your cable set-top box while you’re glued to the final episodes of “Breaking Bad” on AMC through the TWC TV app on your Xbox.
