Accelerate Together: Bringing AI-native innovation to the world

In early December, Microsoft’s Mountain View campus buzzed with the energy of more than 50 founders and tech leaders from India’s leading AI-native startups, many with a presence in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Accelerate Together event was more than a showcase—it was a catalyst for community, innovation, and partnership. Attendees explored how the next wave of AI will be built and how Microsoft can help startups bring big breakthroughs to market.

Jay Parikh, Microsoft’s executive vice president for CoreAI, set the tone by emphasizing Microsoft’s commitment to startups and shared his broader vision for the future of AI.

“Everything about how we think about software, how we build it, how we deploy it, how we operate it, is fundamentally changing,” he said. “We want to provide the platform, and we want to make sure that you get an ecosystem of trust and security and a flexible deployment model for you to focus on and build your applications.”

The three waves of AI and the agentic future

Tim Bozarthcorporate vice president of engineering leadership for CoreAI, expanded on the transformative nature of AI by explaining its three waves.

The transition from the first wave—asking questions—to the second wave—delegating tasks—happened in less than three years, Bozarth said. Now we’re entering the third wave: using multi-agent systems to accomplish complex tasks.

The difference between the first wave and the second wave was the model, Bozarth said, but the difference between the second and third waves is not the modelIt’s the constellation and capabilities that are built around the model.

It’s a fundamental shift in how software is createdAmong high-performing teamsengineers will now spend most of their time planning and validating rather than coding, he saidInstead of being rewarded for lines of code created, engineers who experiment and who are the fastest learners will win.

“The nature of productivity is being flipped on its head,” Bozarth said. “It’s idea to value: how long it takes to go from having an idea, having an ambition, to getting it into customer’s hands.

Startups at the forefront

Beyond learning about the latest in technology, Accelerate Together provided an opportunity for startups to build connections. Founders mingled with each other and Microsoft engineering and research leaders, sharing product roadmaps and discussing how AI is poised to disrupt industries from logistics to insurance to software development.

One such potential disruptor is Niken Patel, co-founder and CEO of San Jose, Calif.-based Neuron7, a leader in AI service resolution intelligence. Neuron7’s customers include Fortune 1000 companies with complex operations who rely on trusted guidance to maintain uptime for equipment such as CT scanners in hospitals and routers in datacenters.

Patel is pleased at how friendly Microsoft is as an ecosystem to AI-native companies such as Neuron7, whose product is built on Azure. He also enjoyed learning about other startup innovations and how founders are navigating similar operational hurdles.

“It’s always great to collaborate with other ambitious founders who are trying to change the world,” Patel said.

Nitin Jayakrishnan is co-founder and CEO of AI startup Pando.

Nitin Jayakrishnan, co-founder and CEO of Chicago-based Pando, which builds AI agents for supply chains, attended Accelerate Together because he wanted to learn from other founders and explore ways to partner with Microsoft.

“What’s eye opening is really understanding what those common problem statements are,” Jayakrishnan said. “Some of us have solved some pieces, others have solved others. That community learning has been invaluable.”

For the Bay Area’s startup ecosystem, the message is clear: the future belongs to those who build boldly, collaborate deeply, and leverage the power of AI to turn intent into impact.
