October 10 — Give Me Shelter: How The Bay Area Is Tackling Its Housing Crisis

Please join The San Francisco Foundation and the Bay Area’s most influential leaders concerned about our housing crisis to discuss ways in which the region is advocating, innovating and building in order to keep Bay Area residents in their homes.

October 12, 26 — Code for San Jose Civic Hack Night

We are a Code for America brigade — a volunteer civic innovation organization that welcomes citizens, coders, designers, data geeks, policy wonks and community activists with an interest in solving community problems through the use of technology.

Our goal is to help open, improve, and engage local governments in the San Jose area, and to pursue projects that solve real problems in our communities.

We hold bi-monthly “civic hack nights” in which our members work on a range of civic tech projects, such as building tools and services on top of open data.

October 13, 27 — Public Impact Design Training in Sacramento

Public Impact Design training blends human-centered design with systems thinking and reflective practice – three powerful, collaborative frameworks for problem-solving and creating change within systems, organizations, and individuals.
