2016 GlobalMindED Conference (#GMED2016)

Last week Microsoft sponsored and participated in the innovative GlobalMindED Conference, which convenes business, start-up, government, education, nonprofit, and student leaders to address access issues in workforce and education.  With Microsoft’s State and Local Government team leading the engagement, several Microsoft products and partners are being highlighted at the conference.

Microsoft’s Sid Espinosa is a featured speaker at GlobalMindED, discussing the evolution of civic tech, Microsoft’s innovative civic tech and education programs, and the company’s myriad YouthSpark initiatives.  As the conference focuses on “first gen” (first generation to attend college) access, Sid was able to talk about his personal story about path to Microsoft.

Various tech companies (e.g., Google, IBM, Intel, HP, Dell, etc.) were also present, with much of the conversation focusing on how technology is being used in innovative ways in cities and educational institutions across the country and around the world.
