Silicon Valley is a special place: both united and divided.  Most people here share the same experiences: hiking in the foothills, being stuck in traffic on 101, scrambling to keep up with the latest technology.  But at the same time, inequality creates fissures in Silicon Valley.  As a region, Silicon Valley must address income inequality and affordable housing, as well as collective concerns about the environment, health, the arts, and quality education for all.

The truth is that everyone here is part of the same environment, the same workforce, and the same education system.  Silicon Valley Gives (SV Gives) celebrates what connects us as a community.  On May 5, for 24 hours, one single website will serve as a donation portal for hundreds of local non-profits.  Silicon Valley Community Foundation is leading this massive effort, and Microsoft is proud to once again support SV Gives as lead sponsor.

In 2014, the first SV Gives benefited over 650 non-profits, raising $8 million in just 24 hours.  Nearly 15,000 people contributed to a brighter future for Silicon Valley.  If you’d like to be part of SV Gives 2015, you can schedule a donation today, share this video, and learn more at www.SVGives.org.
