Today marks the first ever Innovation Forum hosted by the Full Circle Fund and Microsoft Silicon Valley. This “Demo Day-style” event will be held on the Microsoft campus in Mountain View. The event will feature demos by local Bay Area leaders in education and civic engagement, a panel discussion on ‘Empowering Future Innovators In & Out of the Classroom’, and a closing reception. Participants will also have the opportunity to direct a mini-grant from Microsoft.

2) Social Innovation Summit

The Social InnoUntitledvation Summit is a twice yearly event taking place at the United Nations and Silicon Valley. The event features a renowned group of speakers who will explore the intersection of technology, investment, philanthropy, and international development. Microsoft’s General Manager for Citizenship & Public Affairs, Lori Harnick, will lead the ‘Possibility’ session. Part of the session will include a presentation from Kimberly Bryant, founder of Black Girls Code, and a computer science education panel with Jane Broom and Kevin Wang from Microsoft’s Citizenship and Public Affairs team.

3) AFP SVC’s Silicon Valley Philanthropy Day

Friday is the 27th Annual Silicon Valley Philanthropy Day, the AFP SVC’s premier Valley event. To celebrate National Philanthropy Day hundreds of fundraisers, community leaders, and members of the Silicon Valley community will come together to honor local business and individuals who have generously given time and funds to local philanthropy efforts. This year Microsoft is being honored in the category of ‘Outstanding Corporate Grant Maker with More Than 300 Employees’.  Our own Sid Espinosa, Director of Philanthropy & Civic Engagement, will accept the award on Microsoft’s behalf.
