Among the ‘World’s Most Ethical Companies’

We live in a world of increased and appropriate expectations related to the accountability companies have to operate as good corporate citizens. Consumers expect companies to have a positive impact in communities where they operate. People from organizations such as Microsoft are expected to behave with integrity, all day.

Every day.

It’s a responsibility which we embrace wholeheartedly. And for the third year in a row, we are proud to be named as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute.

The 2013 list, which was released last week, signals the growing importance that corporations place on having a reputation grounded in integrity and ethics. Ethisphere’s methodology includes: reviewing codes of ethics, litigation and regulatory infraction histories; evaluation of the investment in innovation and sustainable business practices; and the examination of activities designed to improve citizenship.

Microsoft actively works to be an industry leader in all of these areas. We employ almost 100,000 employees in more than 100 countries around the world. We work – continually – to create a respectful and rewarding work environment for each of them, and report on our goals and progress each year in our annual Citizenship Report.

Ethisphere receives nominations from across 36 industries and in more than 100 countries. We offer our sincere congratulations to the other companies featured on the list. We are honored to be among them.
