Human Resources Law Expert Joins Microsoft Legal Team

Senior Vice President and General Counsel

I’m delighted to announce that Karen Jones will join the Legal & Corporate Affairs (LCA) team at Microsoft as our new Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for HR Law.

This is a new position that we are creating to consolidate and provide leadership for three closely related areas of work: Employment & Benefits Law, Global Migration and Employee Relations Investigations.

In recent years, we have witnessed increasing change in these legal fields. The creation of this new position gives us the opportunity to increase our focus on a wide variety of complex and important HR legal issues, and to continue our dedication to managing Microsoft’s most important asset: its people.

Karen is ideally placed to assume the leadership position for this new organization. She comes to us from the Riddell Williams firm, a highly respected and well-managed firm that we know well, and brings to Microsoft 30 years of experience in the employment legal field. Over the past decade, Karen has been one of the leading lawyers in the employment field, working closely with Microsoft and a number of other companies on cutting edge and important employment matters, and we welcome her to our LCA Senior Leadership Team.
