A behind-the-scenes look at Kinect’s skeletal tracking

When it comes to interacting with technology, Kinect offers one of the most natural experiences, requiring nothing more than your voice and body. Kinects’s cameras and sensors take care of the rest, responding to verbal commands and tracking your movements with the greatest of ease.

It wouldn’t be possible without a team at Microsoft who are dedicated to establishing a record of the speech patterns, movements and facial expressions of people from different ages, genders, languages and ethnicities. More than  1 million images were processed for the launch of Xbox One.

The Microsoft News Center published a feature this morning that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the painstaking process.
