Get advance notice about July 2014 security updates

Today, the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) posted details about the July security updates.

If you have automatic updating turned on, most of these updates will download and install on their own. Sometimes you may need to provide input for Windows Update during an installation. In this case, you’ll see an alert in the notification area at the far right of the taskbar—be sure to click it.

In Windows 8, Windows will turn on automatic updating during setup unless you choose to turn it off. To check this setting and turn on automatic updating, open the Search charm, enter Turn automatic updating on or off, and tap or click Settings to find it.

Do you know a way for updating my account?

Trying to obtain this new security code but you don't even seem to have my correct e-mail address. Tal about 'Catch 22'!

I am also trying to get a "security code". This requirement has blocked use of my email. When I call tech support for help, they ultimately ask for a fee to assist. This code thing appears to be a Microsoft requirement, so I shouldn't get charged or have to run through all these hoops to get this thing resolved.

Microsoft would never call you and you should never respond to anyone to who calls you for anything. If you think they are legitimate, ask them for a phone number where you can call them back.  You will often find they will hang up on you.

Tried contacting Microsoft repeatedly with just run around answers and emails that are not helpful.  I just wanted to change my email password and they started giving me my old work password (retired 4 yrs ago) and said I could do nothing until I received the CODE from them at the old email. My work email is literally "dead" now within my company and trying to get Microsoft to see that and move onto something relevant is virtually impossible.

It doesn't look like any one from Microsoft is helping with these issues. It is so frustrating. I also can not access my email every few months as I keep getting these request for security info replacement and as someone said above my email address is wrong when prompted to select it.

I got the email saying ' GOOD NEWS, you can replace your security info the waiting period is over…'  I don't want to replace anything and if I did I am unable to because MS is not providing me access to my own email via the correct email address when prompted to reply.

Can someone from Microsoft explain the problem and what this is? Why are  email address incorrect when trying to select? What is the whole replacement idea about and how do can I stop being denied access to my email every few months when this process kicks in?
