I have been contacted by phone and told that Microsoft has received many error messages from my computer.  The tech asked me to log on and go to the manage screen and check for errors.  There were lots and lots of errors shown and many programs showing not available.  Long story but at end said was infected with viruses – errors etc were for the last month when my antivirus lapsed.  I was asked to get a green dot card to buy software to fix and repair files.  Tech's name is Jacob Whitmore.

My comment is as follows:  I have closed out Security Essentials & downloaded Vipre.

I have to say,. Security Essentials was not monitoring my computer while it was turned off.

Everytime, I came back on my computer, it left a msg that date was 1 or 2 days prior to the time I logged on?  Vipre Antivirus DOES NOT DO THAT.  I have had multiple problems with

Security Essentials and that's all there is to it.

I had my computer set on auto check and install. After installing updates my computer start becoming unresponsive after 20 minutes. Everything works fine when I revert back to last week's System Restore.

I had a few failed update installs. Could that be the reason?

March Automatic Updates resulted in freezing up my computer. When I revert back to a week ago System Recovery, bypassing the update dates, everything is fine. Any thoughts?
