A major set of updates has arrived for Microsoft Azure, including DocumentDB (a preview of a new NoSQL document service), Azure Search and portal support for SQL Server AlwaysOn and community-driven Virtual Machines.

The new NoSQL document database service is designed for scalable and high-performance modern applications. DocumentDB is delivered as a fully managed service (meaning you don’t have to manage any infrastructure or VMs yourself). The new Azure Search service makes it easy for developers to add search experiences to any Web or mobile application.

The updates also add support for Web Jobs and website processes in the Preview Portal, general availability of Microsoft Azure Monitoring Services Management Library and support for API Management REST APIs.
