On the Bing home page, it’s the Age of Aquarius

If you did a double-take at Friday’s Bing home page, you’re probably not alone. What looks at first like a coral reef is actually an ocean-floor laboratory found in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Since 1992, the NOAA Aquarius Reef Base has been a living space and lab where researchers gather data about the health of the reef.

On June 1, Fabien Cousteau, grandson of famed oceanographer Jacques Cousteau, began a 31-day underwater research project in the base, which will set a record for staying in a submerged facility.

Read more about Aquarius on the Bing home page and about Cousteau’s project on the Skype Social Good blog and the Exploring Oceans on the Skype in the classroom site.
