‘Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’ takes Snake into sensational stealthy scenarios

Fans of the “Metal Gear” series got an eyeful at E3 from director Hideo Kojima and the promotional spectacle for “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.”

Xbox Wire goes into great detail about the gameplay, but here’s the premise: Series protagonist Snake wakes up from a decade-long coma in 1984 and in pursuit of his abducted majordomo, Kazuhira Miller.

“Snake has the run of a vast and open world, and enjoys the ability to mark enemy locations, once he surveys the area with his binoculars. This enemy-flagging system effectively supplants previous games’ persistent radar, and makes for a much more heads-up, eyes-open method of identifying, evading and engaging threats,” writes Xbox Wire.
