CRM technology helps small businesses get big results

With only 20 employees, HealthStatRX, a specialty pharmacy that manages medication and therapeutic monitoring for patients with chronic conditions, is just one of many small businesses that has used customer relationship management technology to build innovative services, writes Cindy Bates, Vice President, Microsoft U.S. SMB group, in a blog post.

HealthStatRX built a new kind of offering on a platform that used Microsoft Dynamics CRM online as the front end for patient care coordination, helping to manage how and when chronic patients take their medication, and to manage patients’ dietary needs. The company “was able to produce a nearly 70 percent reduction in hospital readmissions,” she writes. “They were also able to slash costs dramatically, but its real ROI is the positive outcomes for patients and the lives that it saves.”
