Staff App Pick: Book flights and plan trips with the United Airlines app for Windows

Each week, we bring you a new app recommendation from our colleagues. This Staff App Pick comes from Deb Hoage, a partner business evangelist in Developer and Platform Evangelism at Microsoft.

I travel a lot for business, so I am a frequent user of the United Airlines app for Windows. The app gives me convenient access to all of the United Airlines website’s features, plus the ability to launch the site from my app list and pin the tile to my Start screen.

That means I can make use of all of the features of United.com to book travel, get boarding passes, plan vacations and more. I can also share special offers with friends and family, and pin favorite locations to my start screen.

If I’m in a taxi on my way to the airport, in a meeting or standing in a long line at the United Airlines counter because my flight’s been delayed or cancelled, I can quickly access the app and make the necessary reservations or changes I need.

When using the app on my PC, I can get a split screen experience whenever I’m searching for information, so there’s no need to flip back and forth between screens. On top of that, I can view my personal information from my frequent-flyer account or hit the live chat icon and “Ask Alex” my questions.

For a busy traveler like me, the app makes “flying the friendly skies” a lot easier. Check out the United Airlines app in the Windows Store today.
