Less than six months ago, Vladislav Spevak, the CEO of Prague-based Mingle Games, published “Dark Lands” to the Windows Phone platform. Funded by AppCampus, the feature-light game has accrued 1.7 million downloads. Now Spevak plans to use Windows Phone 8.1’s newest features to release a feature-rich update and reach Windows customers too.
In an interview with Building Apps for Windows’ Emilio Salvador Prieto, Spevak says he’s excited to try live tiles to visually inform users about character improvements and new equipment. With the 8.1’s geofencing capability, users in the same area can connect with each other. Spevak also calls out 8.1’s improved Facebook integration as vital in reaching users.
