Hack for survival in the dark world of ‘Watch Dogs’

You’re a good guy in a bad position in Ubisoft’s “Watch Dogs,” and that means doing some pretty nasty things on the hacking front, including escaping from a crowded baseball stadium by causing a blackout that plunges the stadium into a panic.

The game, due out May 27 for Xbox One and Xbox 360, has a “novel – and sometimes uncomfortable — game dynamic,” with a focus on hacking, espionage and security, Xbox Wire writes.

Vitaly Kamluk, a principal security researcher for Kaspersky Lab in Russia, was the “security advisor” for the “Watch Dogs” script. Some of the events in “Watch Dogs,” such as emptying ATMS and taking control of traffic lights, are actually happening in Russia today, he says.

To learn more about the game, head over to Xbox Wire. And you can read more of Kamluk’s comments here.
