Windows Store Red Stripe Deals include half off ‘Asphalt 7: Heat,’ My Trips and ‘Xolitaire Xtreme’

“Asphalt 7: Heat”

Thursday’s weekly Red Stripe Deals in the Windows Store save you at least 50 percent off the original price of apps and games. The current crop of savings includes a game that packs (asphalt) heat, an app that gives you offline access for your travel details and a version of solitaire that could be considered solitaire on steroids.

Asphalt 7: Heat” (originally $4.99 in the Windows Store, now $2.49; and originally $4.99 in the Windows Phone Store, now $1.99), lets you choose from 60 different race cars, and rip up tracks in cities around the world, including Miami, London and Rio de Janeiro. Race against friends, or challenge players around the world. The My Trips app (originally $2.99 in the Windows Store, now $1.49; and originally $1.99 in the Windows Phone Store, now 99 cents) connects to your TripIt.com account. You sync your trips before you go, and then you have offline access to your flight, train, car rental and hotel info – even without Wi-Fi!

Solitaire addicts will definitely want to download “Xolitaire Xtreme” (originally $3.99, now $1.99 in the Windows Store) with more than 200 games waiting for you. Get detailed statistics and the ability to view cards from any angle, undo and redo any move, or repeat any deal of the cards. In “Eternal Journey” (originally $3.99, now $1.99 in the Windows Store), you’ll solve the ancient mystery of Atlantis as you travel from deep ocean waters to Martian landscapes in this archaeological puzzle adventure.

For the young ones, there’s Topsy and Tim Start School (originally $3.99 in the Windows Store, now $1.49), an educational app that’s based on the popular children’s book series and TV show. Games and puzzles introduce children to the school routine and get them ready for their first day of school. And there’s also Care Bears — Create & Share! (originally $3.99 in the Windows Store, now $1.99). Kids can choose their favorite Care Bears and add magical accessories, borders and backgrounds to create their own Care Bears postcards, and share them with friends and family.
