Yammer receives top-tier certification for its security

Yammer has been certified for its stringent security measures by the British Standards Institution – the national standards organization of the United Kingdom and one of the premier accreditation firms in the world.

ISO 27001 certification is the best-known international information security standard, and the certification “provides independent assurance that Yammer’s staff can effectively operate a comprehensive security program and manage information security risks effectively,” the Yammer Team reported Monday on its blog.

It was also announced that the Yammer Data Processing Agreement is now available, on request, through customers’ Microsoft account teams. The agreement “addresses the privacy, security and handling of customer data. Our standard data processing agreement enables customers to comply with local regulations,” the team writes.
