Staff App Pick: Pradux gives you fabulous fashion at your fingertips

Each week, we bring you new app recommendations from our colleagues. This week’s Tuesday Staff App Pick comes from Neha Bhaskar, Senior Channel and Ecosystem Marketing Manager, Developer & Platform Evangelism, Microsoft.

Dying to own that outfit Olivia Pope wore on “Scandal” last week?

Well now you can with Pradux, the new Windows app that makes it easier to track down those coveted items and buy them in a snap.

Pradux is a new way for you to browse, shop and share celebrity and TV fashion. The startup has amassed a database of styles worn by TV stars and celebrities, and its content is curated by stylists as well as crowd sourced from TV and celebrity fashion enthusiasts. Their brand new Windows 8.1 app just launched, and I couldn’t wait to try it out and share it with all of you!

The Pradux app is gorgeous and easy to use. You can browse the app by your favorite TV show or by categories such as home, beauty and bath, clothing and accessories. To see the complete inventory and shop, sign in using your Facebook credentials and gain instant access to tens of thousands of products. There are products from popular shows such as “Gossip Girl” and “Pretty Little Liars” as well as brands like Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Theory and Alice & Olivia.

And because it’s a Windows 8.1 app, there are some really cool features. My favorite is the ability to “snap” the app on one side of the screen while you watch a TV show. So, the next time you’re watching “Gossip Girl” and you see Blair Waldorf wearing that oh-so-adorable dress you can’t resist, just snap the Pradux app on the side and get it before everyone else.

In addition, you can also potentially profit from any products you share through Pradux. The company makes money through an affiliate network and takes a commission every time a purchase is generated from a partnered retailer. However, it also crowd-sources content. You can share products, tag uploaded photos and provide a link to where the product can be purchased. If someone buys the product through a partnered retailer, voila – Pradux splits the commission 50/50 with you.

And for all you fashion bloggers out there, Pradux has great tools that can make all those product images and photos on your own site shoppable. Now, your personal blog is a retail site, only you don’t need to worry about the backend logistics or payment processing.

Download Pradux from the Windows Store today. It’s free, fabulous and puts the latest celebrity fashion on your fingertips!
