App of the Week: Get revved up for the Formula One season with ESPNF1 for Windows Phone

The Formula One season opened on Sunday with the Australian Grand Prix, so fans of the highest echelon of open-wheel racing in the world will want to check out the official ESPNF1 app for Windows Phone.

The app brings you the best Formula One coverage across the globe, including news, standings, driver positioning during races and detailed information about teams, drivers and circuits.

When fans first open the app, they’re hit with a calendar containing a full breakdown of the season’s races, including race results for past races and details (including weather conditions) on upcoming races. Start times in the calendar are displayed using local time, which makes it easier to know when to tune into the race on television or over the Web since nearly all Formula One races take place outside of the United States.

Want to know how many hairpin turns and speedy straightaways the next circuit features? From the calendar, tap on any individual race and you’ll get both a detailed map of the track or road course and a short history of the circuit.

And if you can’t get enough Formula One news, this is the app for you. It’s loaded with tons of content from ESPN’s Formula One coverage in columns like The Final Stint and The Inside Line.

Download ESPNF1 from the Windows Phone Store now.
