Workplace cloud file storage and sharing now easier with OneDrive for Business

A new standalone OneDrive for Business subscription plan was announced Monday and it includes Office Online and enhancements to SharePoint 2013 in Service Pack 1 that enable on-premises SharePoint users to configure OneDrive for Business with just a few clicks.It also includes improvements that make OneDrive for Business easier to use, including the addition of simple controls and new search capabilities.

The announcement was made at the SharePoint Conference 2014 in Las Vegas. OneDrive for Business (formerly SkyDrive Pro) offers personal online storage for a company’s employees.

Using OneDrive for Business lets employees store, sync, and share their work files across multiple devices with ease and security, including Windows phone, Windows 8, iOS and Android devices.

“With OneDrive for Business you can collaborate with others in real time right from within Office and edit documents from virtually anywhere via a Web browser in real time using Office Online,” writes Julia White, general manager of technical product management for Office 365.
