ASUS VivoTab Note 8 includes Wacom digitizer stylus for creativity, productivity

On Monday, ASUS introduced the VivoTab Note 8, a lightweight Windows 8.1 tablet that comes with some heavyweight tools, including a professional Wacom digitizer stylus.

The tablet, announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, also will come bundled with Microsoft Office Home and Student, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

“The Wacom stylus makes this little tablet perfect for note-taking in OneNote or being creative in apps like Fresh Paint,” writes Brandon LeBlanc on the Windows Experience Blog.

The VivoTab Note 8 weighs about 13.4 ounces, and is powered by the latest Intel Atom Z3740 processor for a perfect balance between multitasking performance and outstanding energy efficiency. The tablet has up to 8 hours of battery life, ASUS says.

It comes with 2GB of memory, up to 64GB of solid-state storage plus the ability to use up to 64GB microSD cards for apps and files. You can also get up to a year of unlimited storage using ASUS WebStorage.

Pricing and availability will be announced later.
