SharePoint knows that you need access to your team and work documents on the go, so it’s now more touch friendly than ever with a new design that gives you an app-like experience when you work on tablets and smartphones.
As the Office 365 technology blog reports, “The new Touch Design mobile pages enhance the touch experience of two core SharePoint components, SkyDrive Pro and Sites.”
This addition is the latest development with the new SharePoint, which brought contemporary views, device channels and new native apps (SkyDrive Pro apps and SharePoint Newsfeed apps) to mobile users. “From the start, touch has been a key area of investment across all of the products in the new Office, and SharePoint is no exception.”
In a nutshell, the new design gives you big tiles that you can touch to view your documents, documents shared with you or documents you follow. You can also open documents or share the URL of a document with others.
Office 365 business users will see the new Touch Design pages over the next few weeks as they roll out worldwide.
