Throwing a summer party? Music is a great way to liven things up, but it can be dicey trying to keep your song selection in tune with what people want to hear. A new way to stay ahead of that is by letting your guests have a hand in deciding your playlist.
That’s the thinking behind Mix Party, the result of a partnership between the Internet Explorer team and Nokia Music. Mix Party is a companion Web experience, where people at your party can sync their smartphones to the playlist and vote on the tracks they want to hear next.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1. You need an Xbox. Turn it on, fire up Internet Explorer in the apps, and type in this Web address: mixparty.nokia.com
Step 2. Pick three artists and start your party playlist.
Step 3. Anyone at your party with a smartphone can scan the QR code and sync with the playlist, then vote on the artist they want to hear next. The track with the most votes wins.
