If you follow our blog, then you are likely aware that we recently released Volume 16 of the Microsoft Security Intelligence Report. What you may not be aware of is that with this release, we overhauled the Regional Threat Assessment section of our website to give visitors a much more robust interactive digital experience. This blog post is intended to provide a summary of the enhancements that are now available.
Infection and Encounter Rate Map
The interactive map provides an easy way for visitors to quickly locate a country or region and view its infection rate, and encounter rate. Simply clicking on the map to zoom into the country/region and then clicking on the flag for the country/region of interest will display the detail for computers cleaned per mille (CCM) and encounter rate. An example can be seen in the screenshot below:
Each time we release a new report, I have the opportunity to visit a handful of countries and meet with customers and discuss the latest findings. One of the questions that customers are frequently interested in learning more about is how their country/region compares with another. In the past, this information could be obtained by downloading the document for each country/region of interest and then comparing the results.
To more quickly surface this information, the enhanced site now includes an interactive feature that enables this. Visitors can simply type the countries/regions that they want to compare and the information will dynamically change to display a chart with the appropriate metrics. An example can be seen in the screenshot below:
These customized views can be quickly shared through digital / social channels using the “share” features.
Of course, we still have the deep dive threat trend reports for each of the 110 countries/regions studied for those that would like to dive deeper into the data and analysis for their market.
We hope you’ll find these enhancements useful and encourage you to provide feedback to our Twitter handle @MSFTSecurity.
