Get advance notice about May 2014 security updates

Today, the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) posted details about the May security updates.

If you have automatic updating turned on, most of these updates will download and install on their own. Sometimes you may need to provide input for Windows Update during an installation. In this case, you’ll see an alert in the notification area at the far right of the taskbar—be sure to click it.

In Windows 8, Windows will turn on automatic updating during setup unless you choose to turn it off. To check this setting and turn on automatic updating, open the Search charm, enter Turn automatic updating on or off, and tap or click Settings to find it.

The Microsoft Security Bulletin Advance Notification Service offers details about security updates approximately three business days before they are released. We do this to enable customers (especially IT professionals) to plan for effective deployment of security updates.

Today 5/8/14 around 1:30 PM I stopped working and when computer shut down it said "do no turn off computer because upgrades being installed. "  Okay, I didn't.  It shut off automatically like it usually does.   A while later I had to use my computer again and found that I could not connect to the Internet and a biggy–the updates deleted my Norton Security.  Would not even let me open it.  Did not recognize it even.  I resintalled Norton but still would not work.  So did two restores–the last one 5/5/2014 and it works.  However system now wants to install those updates again and I only allowed one.  I have  had nothing but trouble with Windows 7 Professional.  Why would your upgrades shut off Norton????????

I am caught in a loop with your new password security system – it is Too Protective, makes it too difficult to read my mail.  When I attempt to access my mail I am asked – sometimes several times a day – to verify with a code that I do not have. The link to get the code goes to an old aternative email address that is no longer active. when I follow the link to add a new email address it refuses to accept my other email addresses because they are already linked to the account – requiring me to then obtain Another new email address… and then it requires me to change my password Again – so the password code is now useless for the Next time I attempt to access my mail. – the entire process takes almost half an hour,  I cannot read my mail and cannot access help either.  I am very frustrated. please help.

Today, May 10, I had a call from your technical support section asking me to make changes to my system.  I hung up.  If this is for real, I need further confirmation that this is not just an attempt to access my computer
