Terry Myerson, corporate vice president of the Windows Phone Division, wrote in a blog post this morning, “As you might have noticed, these are the first devices with ‘Windows Phone’ right in the name. HTC CEO Peter Chou said on stage this morning that after seeing our plans for Windows Phone 8, he asked his designers to go big and create phones to match our software’s design and personality. I think they achieved that and more. These phones have eye-catching designs, Beats Audio technology for studio-quality sound, and an impressive set of front and back cameras.”
And eye-catching they are, as you can see in this slideshow on the Microsoft News Center, which features full specs and photos of the new HTC devices.
If the slideshow isn’t enough for you, Ben Rudolph provided an additional in-depth look at the two new phones in this Windows Phone Blog post, which features more photos and video of the 8X and 8S.
“From the second you lay eyes on the 8X and 8S you know that this is no ordinary smartphone. Both phones are really, really thin (around 10mm), and look even thinner due to the sweeping curve of the edge and caseback. That curve isn’t just cosmetic, though; it’s also a key reason both the 8S and 8X feel so good in your hand,” Ben wrote.
