Getting Ready for Windows Live Wave 4

Millions of people around the world use Windows Live to stay connected to the people they care about most. They send billions of e-mails and IM messages every day, share millions of pictures, and stay connected with the people they care about most.

Chris Jones, our corporate vice president of Windows Live, has a blog post up this morning talking about the next generation of Windows Live – Wave 4, as we refer to it internally.

While there are many new and exciting things coming in Wave 4, Chris focuses on three important areas:

  • Making the Messenger experience even richer and evoloving it to a companion for your social networks allowing you stay connected across the different services you use;
  • Helping busy people get more done in mail with a more a more efficient Hotmail;
  • Completeing the Windows experience on your PC with Windows Live Essentails by providing the best tools to organize photos, make movies, and keep in touch with your closest friends

Chris talks about out how these great services work across the devices we use everyday, the PC, the phone and the Web and he focuses on the hugely importance issue of privacy and security. Well worth a read.

In upcoming posts the Inside Windows Live Blog will have more detail on the new features and experiences.
